Outdoor Experiential Learning Courses
Cumulus Outdoor Events runs outdoor programs for developing teams, leaders and members of staff by making use of guided experiential learning: in reality it becomes experiential education. Participants benefit from practical experience of the issues covered within the training programs. Taking meaning from actions is a learning process people do naturally. With our learning experiences, we support participants with guided reflection and facilitation sessions combined with theoretical knowledge (when appropriate) and positive feedback. In this way the learning is not left to chance and learning gained from the designed experiences meet participants' and client organisations' aims and objectives.
For this learning process to be effective the participants to need to actively participate in or at least witness the experiences offered. They must be able to reflect upon the experience and consider how it's impacted upon them. They then must be able to analyse the experience, consider the implications and then make use of their considerations and apply it other situations. Outdoor programs are ideal for this as there is an opportunity to apply the learning immediately to a differing experience and cement the concept prior to applying the learning to real work related events and situations.
The tutors play a major role in ensuring the learning is effectively obtained, analysed and applied, supporting the learners and guiding them through the process. They also help to encourage the retention of the learning, applying it to immediate real situations and helping the learners consider how they can again apply the learning in the future within workplace situations. Experiential learning is used on all our outdoor training programs, outdoor corporate events, teambuilding and bespoke programs.
For more information on how we use experiential learning, you are more than welcome to attend one of our Open Days to experience Cumulus, meet with our key staff, discuss your potential requirements and experience some of our delivery techniques and learning experiences.
