Zapcats Adventure Experience
Cumulus run zapcat rides on the coast near Bournemouth These zapcat experiences are fast action, high speed and very wet as you have the opportunity to crew on a two-man zapcat with support from a RIB powerboat. Zapcats are small inflatable catamarans with a 50hp outboard engine. With incredible acceleration similar to a Ferrari and capable of pulling up to 3g whilst cornering, you will not experience anything like it on the water. To make a full day, you could combine them with a Dorset Coasteering experience.
Originally designed in South Africa for racing along rivers and the coastline, they are designed for a variety of sea conditions and surf. They were then developed to become racing machines with speeds of up to 50mph on the water.
During a session, you and others will take turns to co-pilot the zapcats, helping to balance the zapcat and help it turn. You’ll also be holding on to the strops very tightly! When you are not on a zapcat, you’ll be onboard a RIB with 225hp engine, watching the action and enjoying the speed of the RIBS as well. Please note that this is a rough ride, if you have neck or back problems, this activity is not for you. Be prepared to get wet, a towel and change of clothes could be useful! Buoyancy aids, helmets and waterproofs are supplied. You can book online or call the office if your preferred dates if you have a group of 6 or more people.
Adventure Activities are open to any age but all under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent.
