Raft Building Adventure Experience
Cumulus runs raft building activity days for organisations, groups and families. Raft building challenges and raft building team days are great fun and ideal for bringing groups of people together into teams. Sessions can also be combined with our Dorset Coasteering experience. We run a variety of styles of events from basic raftbuilding sessions of designing, building and then testing rafts on the water to outdoor corporate events that also involve racing them around harbours or along rivers to a river side bar and restaurant. All great fun! Families and smaller groups can also book onto raft building sessions to experiment with building rafts and then having mini adventures either trying to keep them afloat or exploring the area.
The Cumulus Crew are qualified outdoor professional instructors used to working with a range of people in a variety of environments on differing adventure activities. During the session they'll offer guidance and advice or if you prefer; just sit back, chuckle to themselves and nod sage-like to themselves as you build your raft. They can provide instruction on knot tying, offer suggestions as to how to connect poles together and then barrels to poles. They can even offer advice on raft designs. Once you are happy with your completed raft and it has passed the notorious shake test, the building stage will lead onto a water safety briefing, issue of buoyancy aids and then you can gingerly take to the water and test your great design. Once afloat and adjusted, you can then explore the area or try out various challenges or if there are a number of rafts on the water, can resort to water fights and other such frivolities.
Adventure activities are open to any age but all under 18's must be accompanied by a parent. Discounts are available for families (parents and children).
