Gliding Outdoor Adventure Experience
AS well as running adventure activities such as Dorset Coasteering, Cumulus makes use of great local gliding clubs to offer gliding experiences for our clients. One the best bunch of enthusiasts we work with come from Dorset. All sessions are run by fully qualified pilots from the British Gliding Association. Flights are take place in two seats, dual control gliders. Gliding sessions tend to be run during the summer and can take place at weekends or during the week. Your flights will not be so much of a joy ride; you will receive tuition and coaching so you can fully experience the delights of piloting a glider.
Each flight tends to take 15-20 minutes per person and you will be towed up to a height of around 2000ft. So not only will you experience flying you'll be able to enjoy spectacular views on the Purbeck, Poole Harbour and the coastline For group bookings a number of flights will be possible, depending upon the number of participants, sharing several gliders and pilots between the group. In between flying, participants can watch the others from the ground, enjoy a cuppa or help out on the BBQ.
The club members are great people and we love working with them. They are very enthusiastic about gliding and are very welcoming to everyone. When the Cumulus Crew fly with them, we find that they are very good coaches, incredibly experienced and have a passion for flying that is infectious. All the equipment is very well maintained and the area you fly in offers views of some of the best countryside in England.
Activities are open to any age but all under 18's must be accompanied by a parent.
